OUAT Hat Trick Query
So I was wondering if someone could explain this to me:
When the Evil Queen and the Jefferson were trying to escape the Red Queen’s maze, there were a few moments when the Evil Queen helped Jefferson run with her. Why didn’t the Evil Queen just leave Jefferson and make a bolt for it on her own? Surely helping him just slowed her down, and she knew she was going to leave him behind anyway. Letting the guards capture him may have even given her a head a start…
Any thoughts?
That Awkward Moment When…
Friend: I have a confession to make, I’m having fantasy dreams about a certain male OUAT time character!
Me: … OMG ME TOO! Who???
Friend: … >.> … <.< Prince Charming
Me: …
Friend: I know he’s older
Me: …
Friend: and that’s a little bad…
Me: …
Me: Oh please, at least he isn’t 30 years older with a reputation for being evil.
Friend: … Wait who-
Me: No one!
Heya, so I’m not sure if I’m posting this in the right place… but I’m still working out the mechanics of tumblr. I’m a Rumbelle fan and saw your post.
First of all… I DON’T HATE YOU!!! I saw nothing wrong in you asking about Rumbelle, in fact it’s brilliant that someone who doesn’t ship them is still trying to understand and appreciate another ship. Sometimes it’s tricky to understand anyone else’s ships, I still don’t get Emma/Regina, but I respect a lot of people like it. So people should stop attacking you on that.
Now to your query. I think the people who like Rumbelle like to deviate from a typical romance, such as Charming and Snow and see something, to quote Skin Deep, “layered”. Rumbelle is wonderful because Belle accepted and fell in love with Rumpelstiltskin as he was, she opened up his human side that we got a glimpse of in Desperate Souls. It’s a wonderful twist to the fairytale world, adds a lot of interesting plot implications and personally, I felt it was a triumph that one episode could generate so much love, emotion and fandom, the OUAT team are definitely doing something right.
Many people root for the darker characters in tv shows/films/books. Look at those people who love the dark characters in Harry Potter for example. People like characters who aren’t wholly good or bad, like Rumpelstiltskin, and I think this initial love of his character also fuels the love for Rumbelle.
Wow… I sure do ramble! If you made it this far, hope that helps. Thank you for trying to understand!!! =)
Just a thought…
Just a thought, Rumbelle fans. In the Cinderella episode, Rumpelstiltskin had his magic frozen by the red quill from the Blue Fairy. Does this mean that even if Fairytale land is restored, Rumpelstiltskin would be without magic? Second thought, could this contribute to his hate of the fairies? Would love to hear theories.
